What a long, strange, crazy, trip it has been at Trent Votes. When we started planning this campaign in April, we had no idea how much time, effort, and support we would receive from Peterborough and Trent University.
We'll be back later this week with some reflections on the campaign, but it is important to take one moment to thank some supporters:
The Federal Election campaign, but the conversation will continue. Stay tuned to the Trent University Politics Society and TCSA for future campaigns - and more information on how YOU can be politically involved (even outside of elections!).
With kind regards,
Ashley Fearnall & Hilary Stafford

We'll be back later this week with some reflections on the campaign, but it is important to take one moment to thank some supporters:
- The Retired Teachers of Ontario (who provided funds for the buses, and our fantastic posters/marketing).
- All of the candidates & campaigns: who provided us with their time but also support and suggestions to improve our outreach.
- The Political Studies department at Trent University for their ongoing support in our efforts to make political knowledge relevant to the Trent student body.
- Trent University's media team - who connected us with local media, and provided great coverage throughout our campaign at TrentU's website.
- To Trent University's Senate, who passed a motion to allow for academic consideration and the time for students to vote on Monday.
- Trent Radio & our various hosts and friends there. Thanks!
- The Trent Central Student Association office staff who helped with our marketing, answering questions, etc.
- CBC Ontario Morning: who gave us a fantastic platform to reach a new audience.
- The Canadian Federation of Students (CFS) who provided great election materials, and supported our campus campaign.
- The Trent Grad Student Association & CUPE.
- Dr. Stephan Hill- who encouraged first year students in ERS to engage in political discussion.
- Our volunteers - without you, this never would have happened.
- All of the colleges who helped spread the word about voting, in particular Gzowski College - who helped plan and execute the exciting 'Meet Your Party' event - a highlight of the campaign.
- IT & The Trent Athletic Complex, who made our debate a reality.
- Kawartha World Issues Centre, who showed us how art is political and opened an important conversation on political issues with us.
- Be the Vote who provided information on voting to Canada, and helped get the word out on voting barriers.
- Samara Canada, who published a key study dispelling the idea of 'Youth Voter Apathy' and gave further evidence to our claim.
- Vote Savvy - who helped plan a Vote Mob and excitement for election day.
- To Housing services at Trent University, who stayed open late to help students on residence get the ID required to vote (this was a amazing act of support).
The Federal Election campaign, but the conversation will continue. Stay tuned to the Trent University Politics Society and TCSA for future campaigns - and more information on how YOU can be politically involved (even outside of elections!).
