Hey students,
Our campaign is set to launch on September 16th at Clubs & Groups day. We're excited to share with you a great calendar of events (coming soon - stay tuned to our website!), introduce you to the party & candidates for the Peterborough-Kawaratha riding, and talk all things politics. Clubs & Groups day starts at 10am, but we'll be officially launching at 12 (noon) that day. Stop by from 10am to 4pm for some cool give aways, election info, and information on voter registration.
Speaking of voting... have you registered to vote? You may not be convinced yet that this voting thing is for you, but we would recommend you register as soon as possible.
Why? Well for one thing, it's super easy! (check out the cool graphic below, provided by Elections Canada).

Secondly, you'll have to be registered in the riding you consider home in order to vote. For students, this can be a little bit complicated. What is home? Is it Peterborough-Kawathas, or do you consider "home" to be where you grew up (at home with your parents)? Unlike the Municipality elections, you can ONLY vote in one riding. So it is really important that you register to vote (or update your voter information) to the correct address/riding!
If you have 10 minutes to spare, you can register to vote (or update your information) online - RIGHT NOW. Follow this link: https://ereg.elections.ca/CWelcome.aspx?lang=e -- or click any of the election Canada images -- it will take you directly to Elections Canada.
Until next time,
Ashley
